W. I. Hoover was' in Chicago this afternoon. Samuel Harvey returned today to his home in Lafayette. Clyde Griggs, son of Lem Griggs, went to Monon today. Glenn Sanders returned to Indianapolis this afternoon. Delos Thompson returned to his home here today from Springfield, 111. Mrs. Morris Jack and son, Wade, of Lee were in Rensselaer Saturday. Joseph Benema, the dredge contractor, went to Chicago this forenoon. J. C. Perry of Chicago is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Oren F. Parker. Mrs. Staley Guinn of Delphi came today for a visit with relatives at Lewiston. Maude Spitler spent the weekend in Chicago with Marion Learning and family. | t Howard L. Harris of Fulton is the guest here of his aunt, Mrs. Frank H. Hemphill and family. Gwin Thomas went to Monticello this afternoon for a visit with his ; parents, Mr. and Mrs. George A. Thomas. Robert Eldridge of Gary spent the week-end here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Eldridge and other relatives. Lucile Phillips, of Champaign, 111., came today for a visit with the family of C. C. Warner and other friends. James Russell, Virgil Russell, Charles Hudson, James Clark and Milton Michaels went to Roselawn this morning. Mrs. J. N. Loveless, who had been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Watson, returned today to her home in Rockford, 111. Mrs. Harry J. Jinkerson and baby of Chicago came Sunday for a visit with her parents, Mt. and Mrs. Harry Wiltshire. Mrs. A. J. Brenner of Winchester is the guest of Mr. Brenner’s uncle A. J. Keene and other relatives and friends here. Helen Good and Lois Ham of Lafayette came Saturday evening for a week-end visit with Helen Warner and Alice Witham.
Nina Tanner of Indianapolis came Saturday evening for a visit with the families of David McConahay and Thomas Tanner. A. G. Lucus returned today to his home in Gary after a visit with Earl Clouse and family and his mother in Remington. Ora Chupp of Hammond came Saturday for a visit with his wife, who is ill at the home of her me er in Union township. Mrs. A. F. Griswold and daughter, Ora, of Chicago, came Saturday for a visit here with Mrs. Nettie Hoover and other relatives. Mrs. E. E. Malone, who had been here with her mother, Mrs. E. H. Shields, returned Sunday evening to her home in Monticello. Mr. and Mrs, John Healy and son, John, went to South Haven, Mich., Sunday for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Overton. The Rev. J. G. Rhind and wife of Remington went to Ephraim, Wis., today, where they will enjoy a vacation until September 1. L. R. Eisenberg spent the weekend here with his wife. His headquarters are in St. Louis, but he went to Milwaukee today. Leighton Gilford returned to Kankakee, 111., today after a visit here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gifford of Clark street. . Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Chamberlain returned to their home in Chicago Sunday after a visit here with Ralph Sprague and family. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Baumgartner, daughter Catherine. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Parker left Sunday by auto for an outing among the lakes in northern Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brown and children of Rural Route 3, Brook, were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Grow and Mrs. Brown’s mother, Mrs. McGlinn. Vernon Nowels and family moved today from the H. E. Parkison residence on North Van Renselaer street to the C. Earl Duvall residence on College avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wiltshire and two daughters of Janesville, 0., and Mrs. Peter Giver and daughter, Catherine, of Wabash are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wiltshire. Loyd Parks and Harry English went to Gary today where they will be entered in the Northwestern Indiana Tennis Tournament. They are entered in the doubles only.

Japies Eldjridge, who is Employed by the Monon railroad, spent the week-end here with his parents. James is one of the men who puts the coal in the engine to keep it running, which is conducive to a strong back. The friends of Mrs. Edward Duvall* will be pleased to know that she is convalescing. Mr. and Mrs. Duvall have as their guests, Mrs. Duvall’s sisters, Misses Arena and Luoise Blanke, and her brother, Paul Blanke, all of Chicago. Lucille Luers is enjoying an extended vacation from her duties in Chicago, where she has a splendid position under the civil service with the government. She expects to remain here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Luers until October. Hazel B. Gray, who had been attending Mrs. Blaker’s school in Indianapolis, was met here Saturday evening by her mother, Mrs. Charles May and daughter, and continued with them to their home in Remington. Miss Gray will be she primary teacher at Gilboa center next term Thelma Wynegar was the weekend guest here of relatives and friends. She reports that her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Wynegar, formerly of this city, but who had moved to Fargo, N. D., have lately moved to South Bend. Miss Wynegar has an excellent position as stenographer in South Bend.
