CAMP TAYLOR WILL SOON BE HISTORY
Abandonment of Camp Zachary Taylor was announced by the war Department Wednesday with the notice that the Ist division, now stationed there, will be transferred to Camp Dix, N. J. , Camp Taylor must be abandoned salvaged and disposed of under instructions from Congress, not later than June 80, 1821, and movement is directed at this time, the War Department announced, “so as to avoid further expenditure of funds for its care and upkeep. . Camp Taylor was completed in the summer of 1917 at a cost of 87,600,000. It * comprises, 2,300 acres and contains 2,600 buildings. It has trained 126,000 recruits, including the 84th division. It has held a maximum population of 63,000 and now eonteins approximately 7,000 officers and men of the Ist division. 1 Li ?
