J. H. Sappington went to Indianapolis this afternoon. 1 Elmer Gunyon returned today to his home in Frankfort. Ella Graves and Mrs. A. McConahay went to Monon this afternoon. Captain J. L. Hagins went to Chicago today for - a visit with his daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Landy McGee and daughter returned from Chicago this forenoon. Mrs. H. R. Mardorf, who is making her home here temporarily, was in Chicago today. Dr. Rose Remmek has returned home after a visit of a few days with friends at Peru. Rex Warner left today for New Haven, Conn., where he will attend a hardware dealers’ convention. Alice and Elizabeth Witham returned today from a trip to Kansas City and other points. Jack Larsh will go to Culver Sunday and will attend the military academy there for eight weeks. Hugh Priestley returned today to his home in Chicago after a visit here with his niece, Mrs. Boyd Porter. Mr. and Mrs. Edd Rendle, Walter and Edward, Jr., and Mrs. John Randle motored to Lafayette today. Mrs. L. W. Benbow and three sons returned to their home in Winamac today after a visit here with relatives. Mrs. Harold Hendrickson returned today to her home in Valparaiso -after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Don Warren. Edward Gray, who is employed by Louis Hooker, went to Monticello today to spend the week-end with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoover, Frank Hoover, Jr,, and Lucille Knox went to Chicago today for a visit with relatives.Rev. E. W. Strecker returned from Marietta, Ohio, Friday, after spending a week with his brothers and sisters at that place. Mrs. Harry Minster and daughter of Chicago came this afternoon for a visit with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Wagoner. Lewis Ford of Gary was the guest today of his niece, Miss Murtie Ford, who is the acting superintendent at the county hospital. Mrs. Pauline. Fay of Washington, D. C., who had been the guest of her sister, Mrs. Paul Wood, left today for Bellville, Ont., Canada. Bernice Long will give a dinner party this evening at her home on Cullen Street in honor of her guest, Miss Frances Carr, of Lafayette. Elmer Pullins, of Gillam township, was in Rensselaer today. He reports that his sister-in-law, Mrs. Lizzie Faris, is in vei*y poor health. Mrs. Joe Wilson, who had been in the hospital here, was taken today to the Methodist hospital in Indianapolis. Her husband accompanied her. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Roberts, of New Boston, 111., who had been guests of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Blue and other relatives, left today for Waterloo, la., for a visit with Mrs. Robert’s aunt. Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Fate were in Rensselaer today and will spend the week-end with his mother, Mrs. C. P Moody. Mr. Fate was billing this city for the big Fourth of July celebration to be held in his city, Crown Point, on July 5. Mrs. William Childers and grandson, William Wikstrom, went to Lowell today where she will attend a meeting of the order of Royal Neighbors. This evening she and William will go to Schneider for a few days’ visit with her daughter, Mrs. C. R. Harsha and family. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Atkinson returned Friday after _ spending a week’s honeymoon trip in Michigan. Mrs. Atkinson and her partner, Mrs. Martin, will close out their millinery stock here after which they will go to Morocco to make their home. _ “ , ~ The Rev. T. J. Jones of Shendan and L. B. Ragan of Indianapolis, came today and from here were accompanied to Mt. Ayr by Mrs-A. Eib and daughter, Jennie. The ministers will conduct services at the Mt. Ayr Baptist church Sund*Mr. and Mrs. Russell Rees and baby of Kokomo, came today for a visit with relatives. Mr. Rees reports that the steel company for whom he has been working has a strike and more than 1,000 men are asking for an eight hour day and twenty-five percent increase in wages.
