Jake Knpehel and son, Peter, went to Chicago this forennoon. Robert* Michal of Reynolds was here today.' Dr. Arthur W. K. Downs of Newland was in Rensselaer today. Mrs. LaVerne Wilson of Brook took the train here today for Martinsville. Mrs. Ada Cross underwent a minor operation at the hospital Thursday. Miss Ruth Robinson, of Hammond, is the guest of Miss Ruth Clark. Mrs. A. B. Caylor of Noblesville is the guest of Mrs. Edward Lane of North * Cullen street. Ethel Lonergan of the Monnett School went to her home in Chicago to spend the vacation. Miss Maude Spitler has the ground broken for her fine new residence on North Front street Trustee Benjamin F. LeFevre and wife of Gillam township were in Rensselaer Thursday. W. R. Nowels went to Fowlerton, Grant county, today where he will have charge of religious services Saturday and Sunday. Trustee C. E. Fairchild, Mr. and Mrs. Al Konovsky and Mrs. John Marr of DeMotte were in Rensselaer today. Mrs. Victorine Pearson, daughter, Mrs. J. F. Nelson, and Mrs. Nelson's two sons, of Grant, Mich., are visiting relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Hopkins and three sons, John, James and Ellis, spent the day at Sedar Lake. Mrs. 8. C. Irwin and daughter Geneviene, left yesterday for a months visit with relatives in Minneapolis, Minn. City School Superintendent C. Ross Dean is again employed in The Trust and Savings Bank. Messrs. Hunt and Mills will take their vacations during July. Mrs. Herman Lange of LaPorte is the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Worland, of North Van Rensselaer street. She will remain here until after the Fourth of July. Mrs. J. C. Rodgers of Aline, Okla., and Mrs. J. E. Mincher, of Detroit, Mich., left today for their homes after a visit with Mrs. Ollie Lewis, near Moody. Naoma Haste returned today to her home in Gary after a ten days’ visit here with her grandmother, Mrs. Joseph Smith of South Van Rensselaer street. Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Rutherford returned this afternoon to their home in Monon after a visit here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Firman Rutherford. Mrs. W. H. Timmons and daughter Phyrel of Jackson, Tenn., are the guests of her mother, Mrs. Mary ' Parker and daughter Miss Blanche.—Francesville Tribune. Anna Carlson, who had been serving as a special nurse, at the hospital, caring for Mrs. Reiddle, returned today to her home in Chicago. Mrs. H. B. Murray, granddaughter, Cecelia Murray, Mrs. L. R. Eisenberg, Mrs. George F. Meyers, Mary Lane, Mrs. P. W. Clarke, Mae Clark and Mrs. Ernest Moore of Morocco, went to Lafayette this *°Mrs°W. L. Braggs, of Oklahoma, who is here visiting her mother, Mrs. Clara Coen, of North Cullen street, and Mrs. Bragg’s daughter, Mariam Parker, spent the day with Mrl Bragg’s sister, Mrs. Lee Rardin, in Parr. Nichols received a cablegram today from her son, Earle Reynolds, announcing that he and his family had arrived safely in LivqrppoL The Reynolds family will remain in Europe until late in November, having been Booked to play all the larger European cities between no wand that time. Their first engagement will be at the Shears theatre in London. Lillo Hauter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hauter, arrived bare fate Washington D. C. Wednesday where he had been attending a national agricultural conference. Mr. Hauter left Rensselaer about four yean ago for New Mexico, his health being poor at that time. For the past two yean he has been connected with the extension department of New Mexico universite, located st Las Cruces. He win remain here until Sunday when be will go bo Madison, Wis., to enter Wisconlin Universite for a six weeks mune in agriculture, and upon the completion of his course will return here for a longer visit. Mr. Hauter is a graduate of the Renaes her high school and Purdue umrenity. He has greatly improved in health since leaving hero, being nuch taller and heavier.'
