C. C. Starr went to Greencastle today. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Kirk went to Lafayette this afternoon. Sidney Peters went to Lafayette today. Ephraim Gilmore of near Lee was in Rensselaer today. Mrs. John Mann left today for a visit at Sheridan and Indianapolis. Minola Lehman of near Goodland took the train here today for Gary. Mrs. W. D. Baker of R. F. D. No. 1, Brook, was in Rensselaer today. A son was born Wednesday, June 23, to Mr. and Mrs. Korah Potts of Union township. Mrs. W.. F. Smith, who had been the guest here of friends,' returned today to her home in Chicago. - Frank Sayler, who had been the guest here of W. J. Wright and others, left today for his home in LaMar, Colo. , Ivah Healey of Frankfort came Wednesday to attend the HamiltonMiller wedding and is remaining for a visit with friends. Attorney Leopold went to Laifayette this afternoon to attend a meeting of the tenth congressional district Republican. Mary Ann Ham of Lafayette returned to her home today after a visit with the family of C. W. Rhoades and other friends. Ivan C. Coppess of Gillam township was in Rensselaer today, having returned from Chicago to this city and later -in the day continued to his home. Mrs. Emma Gregg, who had been the guest of her sister, Mrs. C. P. Moody, left today for Chicago and in a few days she will leave that city for California. Mrs. J. H. Chapman returned Wednesday evening from Denver, Colo., where she had attended the national convention of the American Library Association. Abraham Leopold is having new cement walks placed in front of his business rooms on Washington street occupied by Hilliard & Hamil and the Wright Brothers’ Confectionary store. Thomas Lowe, of North Cullen street, passed his sixty-eighth milestone in his journey of time on June 22. He is employed by County Surveyor Nesbitt and is as active as most men at forty. Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Hope, who live near Morocco, were in Rens- ' selaer today, having accompanied their daughter, Mrs. E. M. Levey, to this city to take the train for her home in Columbus, O. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hardy of Oklahoma City, Okla., came today for a visit with Mrs. Hardy’s brother, George W. Hopkins, and her sisters, Mrs. C. W. Hanley and Mrs. Edward Reeve and other relatives. Mrs. Netta Hoover and nephew, Lester Phegley, went to Chicago today to attend the commencement of the Harrison Technical high school, a relative, Russell Winter, being a member of the graduating clrss. v Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Craig, son Carl and daughter Gretchen, of Indianapolis, who were here to attend the Hamilton-Miller wedding, left this morning for their summer home near Petoskey, Mich., where they will remain during the summer. „ Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Riner and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Slear, who had been guests of Mr. and Mra. William Rowles for the past two weeks, deft today for their homes in Williamsport, Pa. They were accompanied to Chicago by Mra. Rowles and nephew, Max Robinson.
