Senators comprising the senatorial campaign committee outlined plans for % strenuous contest to strengthen the Republican control of the senate and give Senator Harding a strong working majority in both houses of congress. Senator McCormick of Illinois and Sena* tor New of Indiana will be in charge of the senatorial campaign in the western states with head quarters at Chicago. ■ High prices of bituminous coal are not justified by decreased production, car shortage or export demands, the department of justice declared in a statement. _ The department reiterates that prices ranging from $7 to sll per ton are indefensible. -- — — „ —o — Representative Yates of Illinois, in an extension of,remarks in the final issue of the Congressional Record, says that the number of jobholders in Illinois has increased instead of decreased under the new state administrative code.
