FAIR OAKS ITEMS.
May Halleck made a two days’ trip to Gary last week. A much needed rain fell here Monday and Monday night. A. M. Bringle -is slowly recovering from a severe attack of the flu. Children’s Day was observed here at the school house Sunday evening, Qrvill Bringle and wife and Amy Bringle >re here to help take care of him. Chas. Gundy visited home folks Sunday. Also Howard Rainer was at home. The Kight and Spitzer families visited Fish Gilmore and wife Sunday at Stoutsburg. The regular preaching service will be held here Sunday morning at 11 o’clock at the M. E. church. Mrs. Campbell and children and Mrs. Abell spent the day Wednesday with Mrs. Swanson north of town. Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Kight with the Shehan family went to Greencastle to attend the commencement exercises. Mrs. Chas. Halleck is staying in Hammond for a month with her daughter and taking treatment there by a specialist. Mrs. Joseph Clouse and children returned to their home in Avoca, lowa, after a two weeks’ visit here and at Hammond with relatives. The work on the new garage is being pushed along lively now. Charles Penwrite is doing the carpenter work with the help of several others. Mrs. Jake Spitzer was called to the home of her brother, John Cooper, Tuesday on account of an auto accident which later resulted in his death. The funeral of Mrs. James Noland was held here*'at the M- E. church Tuesday afternoon, preached by Rev. Strecker of Rensselaer. Interment in Fair Oaks cemetery.
