Friday local grain prices were: oats >1.02; corn, $1.85; rye, $2.85 snd wheat $2.80. —Ruth Ames and Mrs. Smon Thompson went to Chicago for a few days. Mts. F. B. Ham and Mrs. W. F. Smith returned to Lafayette today after visiting friends here. Mrs. Ben D. McColly was called to Hammond Thursday evening on account of the illness of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Heinz. Attorney W. H. Parkison and son, Lynn, returned to Lafayette today, taking with them t>he former’s mother, Mrs. H. E. Parkison and his sister, Mrs. Howard Mills. It is understood that one of oor prominent young business men is soon to take a flyer into the matrimonial' arena, but we are not at liberty to divulge his name at this moment . „ ~ Uncle Isaac Walker of Barkley township, one of the oldest and greatly respected residents of Jasper county was in Rensselaer Friday the guest of his daughter, Mrs. Jesse Nichols. Elizabeth McCall of Muncie returned there today after coming to Monon to institute a council of sixty member into the Pocahontas lodge. Mrs. McCall is the Great Pocahontas. Mrs. Eleanor Adams left o today for an indefinite stay with hendaughter, Mrs. Roy Stephenson, at Toledo, Ohio. Mrs. Jesse Saylor accompanied her there for a short visit and will continue to her home at Vivian, So. Dak.
