LIVING COST DESCENDING SO THEY SAY

The cost of living is now descending and railroad employes must take this fact into consideration in de-, manding higher wages, E. T. Whiter, representing the road, told the rail-' way labor board Tuesday in reply to testimony previously introduced by the employes that many of the workers now are not making enough money to support themselves and 'that common labor in the railroad crafts should receive a minimum of $2,500 a year. . Mr. Whiter also declared that various employes have different tastes which are unnecessary, withi present high costs. His testimony was in form of a rebuttal for the railroads.
