WARNING AGAINST BIRD DESTRUCTION
Warning against the destruction of robins, jays, and all species of migratory birds has been issued by Richard Lieber, director of the state department of conservation. The birds are protected by federal as well as. state laws, and prompt action will be taken against offenders, he announced. Small boys, armed with air rifles and sling shots, are causing trou)le in some parts of the state, and in some communities laws have been passed prohibiting the possession of these articles. The conservation department is prepared to take every means necessary to protect the lives of Indiana’s song birds, according to Director Lieber.
