DELEWARE DEMOCRAT DELEGATES TO GO GO INSTRUCTED
Dover, Del., May 25.—Delaware democrats in state contention here today chose six delegates' to the democratic national convention and elected United States Senator Josiah O. Wolcott, a - member of the national committee over former Senator Williard Saulsbury. The vote was 117 to 68. The delegates, all of whom were chosen without contest, were not instructed. Approval was given by the convention to the league of nations covenant without destroying or nulifying reservations. At the regular meeting of the city council Monday evening very little business was transacted. The usual amount of claims was allowed. The matter of purchasing a new fire truck was discussed but no action was taken. A petition signed by S. C. Irwin and others was presented to the council, asking permission for the building of a swimming pool. The council gave its consent, providing that the city was not asked to aid in the financing of the project. Mr. Irwin presented a paper signed by many of the business men, showing that $266 has been subscribed toward the building of the pool.
Charles Myers, of Wheatfield, was a visitor in Rensselaer today. Mr. Myers and family have just returned from Florida where they spent the winter. Mr. Myers will dispose of his store at Wheatfield which he has operated for many years, after which he and his family will leave for Florida to make their home. Mr. Myers has been a resident of Florida during the greater part of the time for the past twelve years, where he has done well financially. Editor L. H. Hamilton is somewhat improved today and will no doubt be able to be about within a few days.
