I. of spinal meningitis resulting from the piercing of Ms brain by a twig which .penetrated his nostrils accidentally. While playing in the yard of his home the boy tripped ahd fell headlong into a hydrangea bush. A twig whose spray had been broken off, leaving a spike-like projection, was thrust up one nostril and penetrated the Interior lobe of the brain. The boy died while an operation for spinal meningitis was being performed.
