Judge George H. Gifford of Tipton was here today. Clinton Brown, of Huntington, is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Brown, a few days. Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Chissonvand son, of Chicago, spent Easter with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. McCarthy. Luella Robinson and Mamie Bever, who had been employed in Washington, D. C., under civil service, arrived at their homes here today. The annual election of officers of the Van Rensselaer club will be held this Monday evening. Topics of importance will be discussed and refreshments will be served. Manley Price, who is a senior at Purdue University, scent the week--end with friends here. Hanley is in the mechanical engineering department. The Women’s Home Missionary society of the Methodist church will meet Tuesday afternoon at the Monnet home, when the annual mit shower will be held. A full attendance is desired. Dee Selden, who appeared here a few weeks ago with the North Brothers Stock Company at toe Ellis Opera House, dropped dead after the performance of The Great John Ganton”at Elwood last Friday night. Mr. Selden was well known in the theatrical business. Death was due to heart failure. Mayor W. F. Hodges, who is the chairman of the tenth Indiana congressional district, of the Wood-For-President movement, had exoected to be in Rensselaer Monday and sb informed L. H.
