MONTICELLO ROAD PLAN GOES TO A REFERENDUM

Indiana State Capitol, March 81. —The .state board of tax commissioners has authorized a referendum vote on the petition of Union Township, White County, to construct the “Monticello road” at a cost of ?190,000. The tax board recently denied the petition for the reason that the proposed road is in fact a city street that doubles 'back on itßelf and passes the court house twice, while it is said to. extend only a short distance beyond the city limits. The commission approved the following bond issues: Warrick county, Ohio Township, Hill road, $41,800; Carroll County, Burlington Township, Polk road, $8,000; Gibson County, Union Township, school loan, $4,000 1 LaFontaine, water works, $5,000.
