GILLAM ITEMS.
Mrs. Roy Strong, teacher of the Gillam school, visited at the E. C. Pullins home Wednesday night. Hr. and Mrs. Ralph Freshour entertained last Friday evening in honor of Mrs. Chas. Maddox's sister, Miss Viola Brady, of Paris, 111. Those present were: Miss Brady, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Maddox and George and Leon Maddox and Leon Smith. Refreshments, consisting of ice cream and cake were served. All returned'home at a late hour reporting a good time. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Robinson and Mr. and Mrs. Will Robinson spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrp. Meade Rayhum. Miss Gladys Hershman, t who is attending school at Medaryville, was returning home Friday evening when her horse became frightened at a motorcycle and ran and upset the buggy, throwing Miss Gladys out, and dragging the buggy some distance. Miss Hershman was not hurt. Mrs. Hamilton Record is on the sick list this week. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Maddox spent Sunday with Mr. and Salem Long. Mrs. B. F. Lefevre came home Friday evening from the Francis Willard hospital in Chicago where she has been taking treatments. Mr. and Mre. James Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stevens and Misses Virgde and Myrtle Stevens spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Roby. Misses Jessie and Laura Rayburn and Mr. Russell Rayburn spent Sunday with home folks. Miss Sarah Conpess visited the Gillam school Friday. Those that took Sunday dinner with the Joe Maddox family were: Mrs. Alice Pogue and daughter, Nina, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Maddox, Miss Viola Brady and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Wacknitz. '
