JUDGE GILLETTE ENDS LIFE IN HAMMOND
Judge John H. Gillette, formerly chief justice of the Supreme Court of Indiana, committeed suicide by hanging with a clothesline in the attic of his home at Hammond yesterday. The body was discovered by his only son, Gerald Gillette, an' attorney, when he returned from his office. Judge Gillette, who, prior to his election to the chief justiceship, was Circuit judge of Lake county, for twelve years, had been despondent since the death of his wife a year ago and' his mind had failed.
