■ - — ~ Cambridge, Mass., March H-— The Harvard football eleven will play Valparaiso (Ind.) university at the stadium Oct 9, it was announced yesterday. The date was left vacant by the cancellation of a game scheduled with Notre Dame. Mrs. Eli L. Miller died at her home five miles northwest of Mt Ayr at one o’clock this morning, death resulting from tuberculosis. She was fifty-five years of age. The funeral will not be held until Tuesday as .there are relatives in Oklahoma who wish to attend the services. Burial will be made in the Ornish cemetery near Mt Ayr. A good joke is told on the brakeman and conductor on the Apology. The old bus'got up so much speed the other day that the caps of both of the gentlemen were blown off by the terrific gale occasioned by the great speed of 25 miles an hour, and before they could be stopped nearly a mile had been passed. They backed up and rescued the lost head gear, all safely.—Remington Press. Dr. Fred S. Hatch, superintendent of the Sunnyside tuberculosis sanitarium near- Indianapolis, will be in Rensselaer Saturday and hold a tuberculosis clinic. Dr. Hatch comes here at the request of the Anti-tuberculosis society of Jasper county. The clinic will be held in the ladies’ waiting room at the court house. A tuberculosis examination will be made free of charge to anyone desiring it, and will be strictly private. The Rensselaer Republican says that Remington leads in the county on contributions for the near East Relief fund. Of course it does —it always has lead in every thing pertaining to good work. Red Cross, government bonds, and any other old thing—you will always find Remington and Carpenter township right over the line before other parts of the county get to going. And yet we have not nearly the wealth to draw from, but what we have is available and is given freely for all good purposes.—Remington Press.
