Mrs. Abell and Miss Coolie visited relatives in Lafayette Saturday and Sunday. , , „ . Mrs. Chas. Halleck and Mrs. A. M. Bringle went to Monon to consult the doctor this week. James McKay and Paul Barker went to Chicago last week to join the merchant marines and were sent to Camp Suart, Va., by way of Washington, D. C. Several of our ladies went shopping in Rensselaer this week. Mrs. Beulah Mailer of Monon came up this week to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Trump. Julius Netsell has moved into one of the Potts houses. Jesse Garriott visited his father in Chicago Saturday. . Arthur Ropp and family have moved to the Miles farm west of to Mrs. Martha Wendell visited in Hammond Saturday . The play entitled The Tom Thumb Wedding” will be given at the school house, March 12th. Fair Oaks and Lowell have played two basket ball games lately. The Lowell boys came out ahead, but our girls’ team carried off the laurels and evened up the score. Mrs. J. C. Thompson went the first of the week to cook on a dredge boat in lowa and will probably be gone two or three months.
