BROTHER OF HARRY GIFFORD KILLED AT SCHNEIDER
W. S. Gifford, a brakeman for the New York Central railroad was killed at Schneider, Indiana, last Sunday night when a semaphore, knocked over by a derailed freight car, struck him on the head, killing him instantly. An • examination revealed that his neck had (been broken. —— : Mr. Gifford was thirty-three years of age and leaves a wife and four children. He was a nephew of the late B. J. Gifford, the owner of the Gifford railroad, and a brathet of Harry Gifford of this city. The deceased was a resident of Kankakee, DI., and had been employed *by the New York Central for several years. Burial was made in Kankakee.
