VALPARAISO DEFEATS ST. JOSEPH, 32 TO 13

Valparaiso was out for revenge when St. Joe went to Valpo Tuesday night for the second game of the season with that team. The game was a fight from start to finish. The score at the end of the first half stood 13 to 7 in favor of Valpo’s crew. The second half was the heartbreaker. Valpo’s center finally got the jump, and the rest of the team went on a scoring rampage, making about five field goals in a row before they could be stopped. St. Joe’s men pulled themselves together and from the middle of the half to the end of the game Valpo’s scores came few and far between. Final score 32-13. Valparaiso’s team has improved a great deal since they played on the local floor. The men have learned to use their weight and height to good advantage, two great factors in St Joe’s defeat The team is not exceptionally fast, but their passwork is good. St. Joe played a strong fighting game, never letting up on the pace. Cox, Brady and O’Brien scored the points for St Joe, Schaefer and Wellman being on the defensive most of the time. For Valparaiso Bradley was the ptar on the offense, while Goheen and Dandalet were the backbone for the defense.
