In order that a deeper sympathy and regard for school work may be created and that young people may be drawn into the profession, Governor Goodrich has issued a proclamation designating March 7 to 14 as teachers’ week. The proclamation calls upon the press, the pulpit, societies, clubs and educational and social agencies to lend encouragement and aid to the movement. Raub, Ind., Jan. 29.—Raub was visited by a destructive fire yesterday. The pool room run by Clem Roome and owned by Dr. A. F. ( Hunter, the post office and barberi shop run by Birt McAllister and owned by Peter Booty were burned. The fire started in the pool room and nothing was saved there but nearly all of the goods in the other building were saved. The Booty building was insured.
