Commencing at the northeast corner of section 32. townaMp 82 north, range 7 west, and running thence south a distance of about three miles to tne southeast corner of section 8, township 31 north, range 7 west. The petitioners further represent to your Honorable Board that said highway should be-jlmproved by grading, draining and paving the same with crushed stone, gravel, or other good road paving material, said highway to be of the width of forty feet, should be graded to the width of 20 feet, and that upon said road there should be placed crushed stone, gravel, or other good road paving material' to the width of ten feet and -a depth of .ten inches. Your petitioners further say that, the improvement Of the above described line of highway in the manner petitioned for herein, will as they beUleve, be of great public benefit and utility, and that the benefits which will be derived therefrom will greatly exceed the costs and expenses of locating and. constructing the same. Your , petitioners further aver that the line of highway herein petitioned for to >be improved is les stihan three miles in length; that it commences in a line of highway running east and west which .is already improved, and terminates iin an improved highway. Wherefore, the petitioners pray that this, their petition, be. heard, and that an .engineer and viewers be appointed and such other and further proceedings be had as tfhe law provides. There .was thia day Yiled in my office. a petition . duly signed by more than fifty freeholders and voters, which petition •reads as follows: State of Indiana. County of' Jasper, ss. in the Commissioners’ Court to February Term, l»20. _ - Petition of Richard Grevenstuk, et al„ for an improveed Highway in Keener Township, Jasper County, Indiana. The undersigned Petitioners, represent and show to Board that they are freeholders and legal voters of Keener Township, Jasper County, Indiana, and that this petition is signed by more than fifty such freebodlers and legal voters of said Township, that there now exists in said Township a certain established and much traveled public highway upon and along the line hereinafter described and that the grading, draining and paving of said highway would be of great public utility, and that the benefits arising from said grading, draining and paving of said highway would greatly exceed the costs and expenses thereof, and that said public highway as hereinafter described would be three miles in length, and connects tet each end thereof with an established and improved free stone road in said Township, said highway is described as follows: _ Commencing at the southwest corner of section 28 and the southeast corner of section 29, in township 32 north, range Y west, in ty, and state of - Indiana and running thence north for a distance of one tnile, to the southwest corner of section 21, and the southeast corner of section 20, in township 32 north, range 7, thence runping east for a distance of two miles to the southeast corner or section 22, and the northeast corner of section 27, in township, 32 north, range 7 west, in Keener townrfrip, Jasper County, Indiana, where said highway asked to be improved terminates. Petitioners further ask that said Highway be improved by constructing a road bed twenty-four feet in width and that upon said road bed there be placed crushed stone of an approved quality to the width of nine feet and to the depth of seven inches of crushed stone, and three inches of sheening, making it ten inches in all, and aidd road bed be properly drained so as to fully protect said improvement when the same is constructed, and these petitioners ask that an engineer and viewers be appointed, to view said and that such other legal steps be taken as are provided by Law* in such CfiSMs ‘ ~ RICHARD GREVENSTUK, HT AT., PETITIONERS.
