FAIR OAKS.
- Several of our people went shopping in Rensselaer Saturday. — Bryan Prichet and wife came in Saturday from Sharp Hanley s where they had been staying during corn husking. Bert and Leslie Warne bought and moved the old Mallatt house this week and will use it for a barn. Joe Winslow has moved into one of the Bringle houses and the Botts family moved into the Eliza Fay house. Not much doing now except wood chopping and trying to “keep the home fires burning.” , Al Abell and Chas. Wood have taken a strip of woods to clear up and will sell stove wood to local trades. . „ — , Clarence Ganie and Wm. Potts have bought the Mallatt property on Main street and are preparing to build a garage. The regular preahcing service will be held here next Sunday morning at the M. E. Church. A series of meetings will probably be held if the weather will permit. . The third number of the lecture course was held at the school house Wednesday evening, December 14. Mrs. Charles Eggleston has returned from a week’s visit with relatives in Chicago. . Several new pupils 'have entered school here since holidays and a few have moved away. Sam Karr and Joke Bowser made a trip to Gary and Buchanan, Mich., Inst —-——n? ——- ~~ Grandma Noland was here this week looking after her pension and visiting friends.
