ECLIPSE OF SUN OCCURRED THIS SATURDAY MORNING.

An annular eclipse of the sun occurred this Saturday morning, which was visible over the greater part of the United States as a large partial eclipse. An annular eclipse is so called because the disc of the moon does not completely cover the face of the , sun, as in a total eclipse, and leaves an annulus, or ring of sunlight, around the edge of the moon. The eclipse was visible here at about 7 :44 o’clock. The next total eclipse viable in the United States will occun September 10, 1923, and then the path of totality will pass only over San Diego and a small part of Southern California. ' What is believed to be a basketball record has been made by the Medaryville high school team, which has won eleven out of thirteen games played. The Pulaski county quintette has run up a total of 584 points again that of 152 by her opponents. Medaryville shut out Star' City twice by scores of 90 to 0 and 111 to 0.
