Fred Tressmer has just returned from Michigan, where he was just about to'purchase a farm, but the । deal is off now. You had better stick around, old top. Leave good enough alone and stay with us. The many friends of Charles Vaughn will be pleased to hear of his safe return after a few minor operations had been performed. The boy was surely tickled to come home. George M. Belcher has resigned at the school and Jacob Pittsby has taken his place. It is whispered around that George intends to leave for California soon.

Lakin is building w new thousand-dollar garage. Some place, •too, boys! I Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bell returned to their home in Ohio after a week’s visit with Mrs. Bell’s broth•er. Andrew Kerr. i Mrs. Olin Miner and children left I here Tuesday to visit relatives in । Ohio. Mr. Miner is here from Mon- • tana. I Miss Grace Albin returned to Chicago after a few days’ visit with her folks. . ,
Corn husking is progressing nicely, j Charles Duggleby husked 128 bushels one day last week. Lots of the corn is down, making the husking quite difficult. - i Rabbits seem to be plentiful, as the Duggleby boys got eight in a few hours and Andrew Kerr and H. Tressmer shot nine, thus reducing the H. C. L. The Sunday school is still growing. There were fifty-six present Sunday, with about twelve absent. So far Mr. Ashby’s airship is in. the lead, having made about one' mile, but you know the story of the tortoise and the hare. Watch for the results next Sunday. Remember Sunday school at 10 a. m., sharp. The Bible class met Saturday evening at the usual hour, 7:3Q, with about fifteen present. The 'lesson proved very interesting ana । The Red Cross roll call to date is sixty-five members. The following (‘workers covered the territory: Team । No. 1, Tefft, Vernie White and Eva Turner; team No. 2, Mr. and Mrs. Fisher, southwest corner; team No. 13, Mrs. C. C. Peregrine and Mrs. G. Seegrist, southeast corner; team (No. 4, Mrs. Anna Finn and Mrs. M. Collins, northeast corner; team No. 5, Mrs. A. Kerr and Mrs. Duggleby, northwest corner. If for any rea--1 son some have not yet enrolled they .'may do so yet ’by giving their membership dues to any of the workers. Each member will receive a receipt 'from the Red Crdss headquarters and the membership list will appear as soon as completed. There are twenty-»four members •of the Parent-Teachers’ association. It costs ten cents per member and lanyone interested in the . children’s welfare may join, even if they have no children in school. As soon as enough people are enrolled to form a class in nursing and care of the sick, the Red Cross class will be started. The course consists of sixteen lessons at the nominal cost of $3. It is surely worth while and in case anyone desires the course who is not fiancially able to pay, the tuition will be met by the Red Cross. The next Community club meeting will be held Friday, November 28, the day after Thanksgiving. Some of the members of the church and_ their -friends are planning a trip to Valparaiso Wednesday evening, November 19. Those intending to go are asked to meet in front of the church about 5 o'clock* that evening. The supper will be at 6:30 o’clock and will cost about thirty-five cents per plate. Follo-rtring the meal Mr. Davis will give a talk. It is desirous that as many as possible go as a good time is assured. Mr. Abel will try and not disappoint him.
