FAIR OAKS.
The mother and sister of Walter Rohrahaugh are here visiting the Rohrabaugh family this week. The second number of the lecture course was held at the school house Monday evening. It was a musical program entitled, “The Carolina Girls,” and proved to be very interesting and was well attended. Several young Fair Oakers who have been working up at Hammond and Gary, namely; Milton McKay, Arthur Clifton, Charles Hall, and Cecil Gundy, spent Saturday and Sunday here. . ■ Mrs. Beulah Miller, of Monqp, is visiting relatives here this week. Fay Bowser has returned from a two weeks’ visit in Lafayette. Mrs. Campbell, mother 'of our -principal teacher here, returned to her home in New Albany Sunday. ~ | Mrs. Lilly Porter, of Momence, made a short visit here after attending the home coming festivities at Rensselaer. .— | Robert Shenhen, of Monon, came up and spent Sunday with his grandparents, Mr. and Mis. Isaac Kight. School was not dismissed here on account of the home coming, but the greater portion of the older pupils .went to Rensselaer. A young child 6f Ray Casey was shipped here from Kirklin last week for burial. ' Dal Dewitt and his mother have moved to Rensselaer and Joe Winslow and family will occupy the house vacated by them. There will be preaching at the M. E. church, next Sunday evening at 7 o’clock, and the members of 1 the Aid society are asked to meet at the home of Mrs. Cornes.
