Harvey Phillips returned today from Hammond after a visit with ; relatives. Miss G. Woolton, who nursed Albert Witham during his sickness, returned to Chicago today. W. I. Spitler returned to Chicago today after a week-end visit here with his wife and son.* Mrs. Jay Knolton and Mrs. Lena Medworth left today for their homes at Mitchell, So. Dak., after a visit here with Carr Bros. Florence Schreiner returned today to her home in Wheatfield after a visit here with her grandfather, W. A. Green, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Rhode and daughter, Lena Eastburn, of Brookston, were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Thornton, of South College avenue. Ada Robinson, Alice Ryan and Mamie Bever left today for Washington, D. C., for a visit with the Rensselaer girls who are working for the government. The girls will also go to New York City before reWilliam Marrin, who has oeen employed at the Farmers’ Grain company elevator in this city, has resigned and has moved to a farm three miles west of this city, where he will be employed by Lawler & Beaver. Mesdames J. A. McFarland and Floyd Amsler will be hostesses to the Eastern Star club at the home of the former on South Weston street Tuesday afternoon, October 28th.
