Oscar Phegley returned Sunday evening to his home in Monticello. He had attended she Abner Griswold funeral. E. M. Graham and daughter Mary, of Indianapolis, came Sunday evening for a visit with the family of Dr. I. M. Washburn. turned Sunday to their home near Lafayette after a visit with the family of Elias Arnold. The Eastern Star Chapter will meet in regular session Tuesday .evening at 8 o’clock. The members are urged to be present as there will be work. Mrs. H. L. Brown and daughter/ Mary Jane, arrived home today from Palatka, Fla., where they had gone to avoid the hay-fever season here, Mary Jane being susceptible to that complaint. Mrs. William Daugherty, who had been here to attend the funeral of Abner Griswold and to visit the family of Alton Padgitt, returned to her home in Monticello Sunday evening;- —- 2/ Vada Thewlies, of Lafayette, spent Sunday here with her parents, Mr.and Mrs. James Mr. Jordan has been quite sick for a fewi days and has not been able to attend to his duties as flagman at the !Cullen street railroad crossing. Albert Witham is quite sick at his home in this city. His daughter, Mrs. George Chappell, of Grant Park, 111., went to her home this morning, but will return in a day or two. His brother, J. M. Witham, went to Blue Island, 111., this forenoon. Mrs. Heides Clements, of Mt. Vernon, and twin ' sons, Dr. Fred Clements, of the Presbyterian hospital, and Attorney French Clements, also of Chicago; Mrs. Nellie F. Wilson, of Cheyenne, Wyo., were guests Sunday of the family of J. W. Crooks. *Col. George H. Healey, editor of the Frankfort Daily Crescent-News, came Saturday evening and remained until Sunday evening with his family. The colonel has not been able to secure a residence in Frankfort, but as soon as one can be obtained he will move his family tothat city.
Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Stoner, of Peru, who had visited with the latter’s father, Elias Arnold, of Barkley township, started for their home Sunday afternoon. When about two miles west of Monon their automobile and an automobile being driven by W. E. Harris, of this city, collided and Mr. Stoner’s machine was quite badly damaged. NOTICE.
