“The children of our country, over 26,000,000 strong, who represent our nation's future, are endangered,” says an official bulletin issued by the bureau of education, United States department of the interior. Another official bulletin issued by the United States department of labor on August 4. 1919, makes the flat statement that from ‘'3,000,000 to. 0,000,000 of American children are not getting enongn to eat." - ' This state of affairs constituted one of the country’s greatest dangers. The children —these millions of little ones —are “mal-nonrlshed.” They are not getting the right kind of food.
