The young cyclone that visited here Saturday afternoon gave some, people quite a scare. It blew down several trees, turned over quite a few- buildings, upset straw stacks and in general did lots of damageDuggleby was filling his silo when it took the pipe away. ' Verna White came home to finish her last year in high school. Tom Maloney had a fine heifer the engineer seeing the animal when it was too late to stop his train. Don’t forget Community day. That 6 o’clock dinner, boyß, for 85c is going to be fine, and the, program at night is surely going to be a good one with Martin Hohner busily making arrangements for the occasion. Miss Gadis, of Purdue university, will have charge in the afternoon and there will be other speakers* at night. Don’t forget the date, September 26. Cornel All the ladies in the community are invited to donate toward the supper, so please come to hear what Mis Gadis has to say and help make the supper a success.. The soldier boys of the Tefft community will receive theif suppers free, so ddh*t forget to come and bring your friends. The parents and teachers met Wednesday evening and Prof. Ash- 1 by gave a nice talk on education, and even made the remark that the community’s children didn’t know how to play, and we Believe that was because some rough boy broke one of the large windows. We sup* pose that was what he was alluding to at any rate. It was a fine talk and afterwards the parent-teachers’, association was organized and it ds to meet once a month. Miss Margaret Yeager Is president, Alfred Duggleby, vice-president; Grace Poole, treasurer; Miss Porter, secretary. The entertainment commit* tee is composed of Sirs. Albin, Mrs. C. R. Peregrine and Paul, Ashby. Entertainments will be provided by home talent and the principal has something up his sleeve which wiH surprise and delight all' and before spring the entertainments will be a great success, v Everybody help and let’s put Tefft on the map as a community center. Alf Duggleby, William Fitzgerald, Mrs. McCoHins, Mrs. Rachael Sands, Mrs. Sam Cullen and Mrs. Martha Swing started opt to the county seat to get a divorce, but owing to the rainy weather and the opposition they had, Mrs. Martha Swing was the only hlcky one in the bunch.
