Charles Amstein went to Chicago Monday for a few days' visit. Lola Mallatt has resigned her position in the First National bank to accept a position teaching in the Hammond public schools. John DeFries is at, home here enjoying his two weeks’ vacation. He is. employed as a mail carrier for the city of Chicago. £ James R. Craig, of Chicago, was a business , visitor here last 'Friday and Saturday. U. Mr. and Mrs. Matt Boswinkle and Robert went to the Hammond hospital to visit Mrs. Robert Boswinkle, who is. improving from her recent operation. Blanche Cobb, of Chicago, is here visiting home folks. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Parks, of Hammond, visited here Sunday enrout to visit Bud Parks and family, of Lake Village. Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Pewestorf visited Monday at Kersey with Mr. and Mrs. John Drenth. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Kight visited Sunday at Roselawn with Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Kight. Dr. and Mrs. Eugene Rice "visited their daughter in Sunday and report that she is recovering nicely from her recent operation for appendicitis. Mr. and Mrs. Kleinpaste, of Chicago, visited here last week with Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bovi, Charles Fre’els and wife, of Pullman are here this week visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Stowell, of Shelby, visited here Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fuller.
