THIS BEAN CAN BE USED FOR ALMOST ANYTHING.
J. W. King is very proud of a large bean which he has on display at his home on North Cullen street. The bean measures about two feet in length and four inches in diameter, and - comes f ronra’variety of garden bean that attains a length of from four to six feet and weighs from five to fifteen pounds when matured. They are known as the New Guinea butter bean. The meat of the bean is eaten and not the seeds’ The meat can be sliced and fried like potatoes; baked like a squash, or eaten as sauce; made into pies, and is fine for making cake, and especially fine when sliced for pickles. Mr. King states that he will have some of the seed for sale in the spring and invites all to come and view this marvelous specimen.
