The much litigated Ryan ditch case was before the Jasper circuit court today. Mrs. S. Michael and daughter, Genevieve, of Wichita, Kans., are here for a visit with Dr. and Mrs. A. G. Catt. Mrs. Michael is a daughter of Marvin Cissel, of Anthony, Kans., who at one time owned a half interest in The Republican, the other half being owned by Horace James. Mrs. Michael is a cousin of Dr. Catt. Mrs. G. R. Douglas, of Valparaiso, arrived Friday to attend the Franchise league meeting to be held at the court house Saturday night. Mrs. Douglas is tenth district chairman for the league and is quite anxious to have this district lead in membership and interest in suffrage work. She will speak at the meeting Saturday night.
