BOY SHOT SISTER NEAR CONRAD SUNDAY.
Morocco Courier — A distressing accident occurred at the home of Oliver Wagner, east of Conrad, oft of last week, when a 16-year-old son shot and killed his 14-year-old sister, Flossie Wagner, but the details of the affair did riot reach here until too late for our last issue. ’lt seems that some time Sunday the two children went out squirrel hunting, taking with them a shot -gun, which was carried by the boy. As they were passing the George Graves farm, the boy walking several paces ahead of the gixV—alung the gun over his shoulder in such a manner that it was discharged. The entire load entered the girl’s back as she turned to speak to some children. A Morocco physician was called to attend the injured girl, as welj as a physician from Lowell, and in order to better treat the wound the patient? was taken to the latter place.” However, the shot had made such a wound that treatment was difficult and the girl died late Monday. There have been a great many stories circulated since the shooting, some of Which state that the shot was fired purposely by the boy. It has been difficult, to get any information of the neighbors concerning the affair, as the Wagners live pretty much to themselves, but whether accidental or not, the shooting was needless and only demonstrates once again the folly of permitting children to use firearms.
