Tom Milton won the Elgni 300mile roiad race Saturday, defeating a field of t twelve. The Eastern Star club will meet Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. S. H. Cornwell. Davidson Herron, Pittsburg youth, iwon the national amateur golf title on the Oakmont, Pa., course Saturday by defeating Bobbie Jones, of Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Montgomery went to Danville, 111., Sunday and will attend the fair at that place this week. Mrs. H. L. Brown and daughter, Mary Jane, left today for Palatka, Fla. Mary Jane is suffering from hay fever and the southern trip was made to get relief from this ailment. There will be a picnic supper on John Merritt’s laiwn Tuesday evening, Apgust 26, for all Rebekahs, Odd Fellows 'and their families.
