Mrs. John Mecklenburg spent the ' day with friends at Thayer. Mrs. Edith Hurley and Mrs. Elsie W. Hurley went to Lafayette today. George Collins, Sr., and George Collins, Jr., and Frank Hoeferlin Spent the day at Water Valley. Wednesday was another warm and sultry night in which the thermometer did not get below 74. One of the best yields of oats reported is that of Floyd Gratner s, which made 48 bushels per acre. Mrs. John Richardson and children- went to Gary today to visit Mrs. Frank Richardson. B. T. Lanham visited William Erwin at the Home hospital in Lafayette Wednesday and found him , improving nicely. Mrs. Ada Hufty returned to her home at Pueblo, Colo., Wednesday after a two months’ visit with W. D. Saylor and family. Mrs. Fay Higgins of Mitchell, ' So. Dak., and Mrs. Wm. Armstrong are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. N. Littlefield. Carroll Leatherman, H. R. Milner, Ed Sunderland, Charles Parker, Lxmey Dowell and Mrs. G. I. Thomas of Remington were in Rensselaer Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Donnelly are moving to their newly purchased farm near Plymouth. He will Keep in touch with the home folks through the columns of the Republican. Mrs. W. E. Jacks, who lives southeast of the city, threshed twelve acres of wheat that averaged 32% bushels per acre and 11 acres which averaged 20 bushels per acre. A very large crowd was on hand Wednesday evening for the concert, and, due to the starting being changed to nine o’clock, a great many more were permitted to enjoy the music than heretofore. Miss Emroy Parks, Miss Maur'ce Park of Detroit, Mich., and Miss Minnie Silasbury of Valparaiso, who had been visiting With Ed Sunderland and other relatives at Remington, returned to their home today.

Adam FUesher, who has been laying off from the ranch on account of an accident, fe able to be back on the job now. Word was received here of the illness of Mrs. Clarence Bowman, of LaPorte. Muck fires are still busy. Mrs. John Willbanks’ horse became frightened Saturday and ran away, throwing her out amd. bruising her considerably. Otherwise' nothing was damaged. Newton Stanton was tit by a rattlesnake Friday evening and his foot has ‘been pretty bad, but is somewhat better now. Mr. and Mrs. J. Lilly lost their two-months-old baby Friday. The funeral services were held Sunday. The rest of the family is on the sick list at present. Arthur Cavendish left this morning for Remington to help thredh.
