A certain variety of seaweed, known In Ireland as “tope,” has been recommended by a famous physician as a cure for rheumatism and throat affections if eaten hot, whilst in some parts of England and Wales a variety of seaweed, known as “laver, B has been in demand for years .as a vegetable. Served with roast meats it is said to be extremely palatable.
