Late hatched pullets cannot produce fall and winter eggs. * * • One of the best ways to prevent disease amopg turkeys is by disinfecting. ♦ ♦ * One vigorous tom is usually allowed In every flock of 12 to 15 turkey hens. • • • One of the requirements for fall and winter layers is to hatch the pullets early. * • « It is generally considered that a hen needs .about four square feet of floor space. • • • Early hatched chicks are stronger and easier to raise than late hatched chicks. Wheat is a good feed for young turkeys after they are five or six weeks old. If you desire eggs when they are worth five cents each or more hatch your pullets early. * It costs money to clean poultry 7 houses, because it is a regular duty that requires quite a little time. If early ducklings are wanted to catch the i)igh prices in late spring and early summer, hatching should begin now.
