Washington.—American shipping suffered comparatively little at the hands of German submarines during the war, according to complete figures on allied and neutral ship losses. Only 125 American vessels were lost, as compared with 3.157 British. In tonnage figures she United States lost 385.967 tons, against Britain’s 7,818,870, navy department figures show.
