Wood, Jr., returned today to Dayton, Ohio, after a three weeks’ visit here with relatives. Boltzer Kohler, of Kansas City, Mo, came today for a visit with his brother John Kohler, who is quite sick. Millerd Frost returned to his home near Monticello today. He was called here on account of the death of his brother-in-law, S. A. Williams. Charles A. Enz, manager of the Northern Indiana Land company, of DeMotte, was in Rensselaer today looking after some business matters. George Harnish, who had been visiting with W. L. Frye and family, returned to Chicago Heights, 111., to- - . , ■ - Charles Bibos, proprietor of the Rensselaer Candy Kitchen arid restaurant in this city, went to Chicago today to purchase some new equipment. Frank W. Fisher of Kankakee township returned this forenoon from Indianapolis where he had attended the “Welcome Home” given the Rainbow division Wednesday. 'Comrade D. H. Yeoman, Richard Grow, Elijah Stevens and J. C. Gwin returned this forenoon from Elkhart, where they attended the meeting of the Grand Army of the Republic. L. E. Hess has joined his wife here in an extended visit with her mother, Mrs. Susan Maines. Mr. Hess has disposed of his large Minnesota farm and is now looking for a good business location as he will not re-enter the farming game. Electric supplies. Phone 113. Babcock Electric Co.A. R. Gerlach and son of Fair Oaks were in Rensselaer today. Mr. Gerlach purchased the Charles Eggleston farm and is now living upon . the same. Desiring to become acquainted with the goodpeople of this county and to know as much as possible about the important event# transpiring therein, he has wisely called to his assistance the Rensselaer Republican. Miss Monta Oglesby, of Gary, who is visiting relatives here, entertained her girl friends Wednesday evening. The evening for the most part was spent in dancing. Of course refreshments were served, the table decorations and favors being in lavender and white. After a few more days’ visit here with her aunts, Misses Grace Fame Haas, on Front St., Miss Oglesby will return to her home in Gary. The meeting night of the Health Culture club has been changed to Monday night each week. Members are notified to meet at the home of Mrs. Fred A. Phillips, Moriday, May 12, at 4 o’clock p. m., with luncheon if weather is favorable. Otherwise at the library at usual hour. _ • PRESIDENT.
