FAIR OAKS
The baccaluareate services at the Christian church Sunday evening were well attended and of very great interest. The Rev. J. Budman Fleming, of the First Presbyterian church of Rensselaer, delivered the sermon. The Fair Oaks high school pupils furnished the music, which was much enjoyed by all. The commencment exercises were held at the school assembly room, Thursday. Died, Monday, April 28, Lilly Htfll, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Hall. The deceased was eleven years old. The funeral was held at the Methodist church Wdnesday afternoon, at 2 o’clock. Apporpriate memorial services will be held in Fair Oaks, memorial day, May 30. All who can are urged to bring flowers. Frank McKay sent a kite up so high Sunday that it looked like a large bird. The string broke and the kite sailed* away over toward DeMotte. He is wondering if someone got it when it lit. Possibly someone saw it coming down and thought that it was a German airplane. JeSse D. Allman, assistant cashier of the First National bank and county commissioner, D. S. Makeever, made a business trip to Danville, 111., Wednesday. . Mrs. George M. Cooper, of Kniman, was in Rensselaer Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Burns, of Chicago, came Tuesday evening for the funeral of Mrs. Ray G. Burns.
