MICHIGAN DRYS INCREASE VOTE

Detroit, Mich., April B.—By a majority as large as that by which they voted the state “dry” in 1916, Michigan voters yesterday rejected a constitutional amendment modifying the state prohibition laws to permit the sale of beer and wine. Reports late tonight from 1,625 precincts out 0f__2,339 gave_a majority against the amendment of 115,400 which exceeds the prohibition mapority three years ago by 55,000. Prohibition leaders tonight were predicting their margin would reach 150,000 Republican Ticket Win*. The entire republican state ticket of minor officers was elected by large majorities and a fifty million dollar highway construction program was overwhelmingly adopted.
