FIRE BROKE MONOTONY OF OTHERWISE DULL DAY.
The fire, company* responded to a call this Thursday morning when fire broke but in one of the Leopold buildings on South Van. Rensselaer street, which is occupied by F. O. Bicknell, who is preparing to open a lunch room in it. Mr. Bicknell had lighted the coffee urn and ft exploded. The flames got beyond his control and caused quite a little damage before the arrival of the fire company. Smoke also caused considerable damage to the fixtures and decorations which Mr. Bicknell had just installed. Rensselaer is fortunate in having such an efficient fire company, and insurance reports show that there nas not been a total loss here in seven years, which is a remarkable record and one that can be boasted of but by few cities in the state.
