Papal Guard a Picked Body.

Service in the papal guard has become an hereditary honor in many prominent families in the cantons of Zurich and Lucerne, handed down ‘from father to son through generations. Its requirements are of the highest, and few military organizations have as strict Candidate for the corps must be a Swiss citizen, at least 5 feet 8 inches tall, unmarried, in good health and free from all bodily disfigurements.
