' John Kohler, of Chicago, and his sister, Mrs. Marie Wright, of Chicago Heights, returned to their home today after a visit here with their parents. Their father, John Kohler, who has been quite sick, is improved. —FJonnan Potter and Joseph Taylor are visiting H. H. Potter and family. The formbr is Mr. Potter’? father, and the latter is the tenant on Mr. Florman Potter’s farm near Converse. According to the Brook Reporter, the high school basketball team of that town will attend the sectional meet at Gary March 7-8, and then journey to Lafayette on March 1516 to attend the state meet. Better win the sectional meet before you go to Lafayette to take part in the activities there, friend. The fire company was forced tp make a chilly run to the home of Chas. Lohr on west Milroy avenue at about 5 o’clock Friday afternoon. One of the lower draft pipes of the furnace had become loose and fallen down, which permitted considerable smoke and fire to escape, but the fire did not reach anything inflammable and the only damage that resulted was from the smoke. The fire team made a splendid run under unfavorable weather conditions.
