CAPTURED HUN BAND PLAYS OUR ANTHEM

Pittsburgh, Pa. —In France recently a German regimental band of 60 pieces, whose members had been taken prisoner, played “The Star-Spangled Banner,” according to a letter from ‘ Corporal Ewan W. Allan of the Three Hundred and Ninetieth Infantry, to his dad. The band was taken during a surprise- attack which was made without a barrage preliminary.
