Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gosnell and 'baby, of Hammond, came to Rensselaer this forenoon. Vernon Now els and Ray D. Thompson returned from Chicago this forenoon. Margaret Jones, sister of Mrs. F. D. Burchard, left this morning for -her home in Redkey. Privates Joseph Woolever and Harmon Clairer went to Indianapolis this afternoon. F. H Henry, of Newland, and W. A. Lake, of Kniman, were in Rensselaer today. Charles Rhoades, of Hammond, is spending a few days here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Rhoades. C. W. Eger went to Lafayette today to attend the annual dinner oi the Phi Gamma Delta society, oi which he is a member. Elsie- Haniford, who is a student in the local high school, went to Gifford today to spend the week-end with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Goodman and daughter will leave Sunday for their KSWW ReaiSW’CittfQrnia, it is reported. Captain Jerry Garland and wife arrived here this forenoon. The Captain is looking fine and has a right to feel very proud of his better half. We have this week unloaded another car of Armour’s; Stock feed. This is a fine feed for hogs, also good for dairy purposes. Iroqouis Roller Mills. E. G. McCullum, of Wolcott, who is secretary of the Indiana Farmers Grain Elevators association! was in Rensselaer Saturday. Mrs. R. E. Kenny returned to her home in Chicago today after a visit here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Jackson.
Charles Halleck, who is attending Indiana university, is spending the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Halleck, of this city. Maude Scott, who is a teacher in the Chicago schools, came today to spend the week-end with her mother, Mrs. A. C. Scoltt. f Clyde Gunyon, who is in the dredge business in lowa, arrived herd Friday and will spend a few days looking after business matters and visiting with friends and relatives. Mrs. George Hockney, wife of a very prominent citizen of DeMotte, will be buried therg Sunday afternoon. Her death was very unexpected and was caused by heart failure. Bertha Eldridge and Catherine King went to Chicago today for a visit with Elizabeth King, who is taking a musical course in a Chicago college. . : Mrs. Charles Walters went to Ft. Wayne today for a visit with a friend. She will return to this city before leaving for her home in Tuscon, Arizona. Wagoner Harry May, son Of County Treasurer C. V. May, arrived in Rensselaer today, after several month’s overseas duty. He arrived in America February 1 and was discharged at Camp Sherman Chillicothe, Ohio.

Alice Eib, who is a teacher in the Elwood city schools, came today to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Eib, of Barkley township, and also to see her brother, Sergt. Rollin Eib, who arrived here on the Saturday morning train from Camp Taylor, from which place he received an honorable discharge from the army. Mark Schroer and family will leave Sunday for Amboy, 111., where they will make their future home. Amboy was the former home of Mrs. Schroer. Mr. Schroer has not definitely decided what occupation he will follow, but thinks that he will again take up fanning.
