FAVORS CONNIE MACK’S PLAN
Barney Dreyfuss Would Do Away With Sale of Players Except for the Waiver Price. * Barney Dreyfuss says he is heartily in favor of Connie Mack’s suggestion to do away with the sale of ball players except for the \jytiver price. He believes that if players are to be disposed of it should be preferably by trade, but that, at all events, no outlandish price ahould be paid for them. He asserts that more trouble has- been caused by the publicity attending sensational deals in the past than by any bthpf one thing in basebalk, and for this reason is in favor of doing away with such transactions in the future. Mr. Dreyfuss ought to know, for that O’Toole-Kellygdeal sure never ditl help the Pirates a great sight, and it was one of the real big money deals ever pulled in baseball. -----
