Guild, of Medaryville, is spending a few days in this city, being interested in a case in court. Now and then some one leaves the city for a mysterious point and on a mission of. such secrecy that they do not want a word said about it in the paper. Charles Ro wen and family, of Lafayette, are moving into the property he purchased of Frank Kresler, which is at 317 S. Cullen St. We have this week unloaded another car of Armour’s stock feed. Orville Lambert, who is the tenant on the Charles W. Postill farm near Surrey, returned from Frankfort Friday forenoon. He had attended a hog sale at the Clinton county capital. A traveling salesman called at this office today. He was disappointed that we did not buy some of his wares, but in leaving he drew a sigh as he remarked, “Well, alter all, why be downcast, the war is over and I have not had the flu?” Lieut. C. E. Glascoe, who had <been the guest of of his friend, Frank Woemer, a member of the local high school faculty, left today for his home at Grand Junction, Colorado. Lieut. Glascoe had just been discharged fro mthe army after serving nine months at Camp Grant, 111. Joseph Wo clever returned to Rensselaer today after quite a tour looking for work. Joe hopes to get a place upon a farm in this community. Certainly our soldier boys should find employment and. it. is. ■hoped that Joe may be used by some of our farmers at once.
