OHIO TAKES STEPS TO MAKE TAXES EQUITABLE

The state of Ohio is now taking action with a view of making a classification of taxes* notwithstanding their one per cent tax limitation. At the election held in November,* 1918, an amendment was voted on repealing the uniform clause and substituting therefor a requirement that the legislature classify property Itor taxation, and thqit each class should be subject to such a rate of taxation as would be just for such class. This carried upon a popular vote by the people and‘is now part of the constitution of the state of Ohio, upon which legislation concerning this sub loot can be bad. X*
